embrace – fine art prints & textiles
Treat yourself and your home to these new rich cultural offerings from Yvette Michele. These large 24" x 36" fine art prints are a modern, minimalist way to enhance your decor with the adornment from the Akan.
The adinkra symbols represent popular proverbs and maxims, record historical events, express particular attitudes or behavior related to depicted figures, or concepts uniquely related to abstract shapes. Originating in Ghana from the Akan.
Title - Talking Drum
The talking drum is a communication device common to many tribes across West Africa. It´s beaten to relay a local language and covey a message to people within the community. For the Akan people in the Asante land of Ghana, the symbol of the talking drum is poetic excellence and goodwill.
